A sunny day in late September is a welcome thing in the Northwest. The slits in the blinds cast tiger stripes on my arms this morning and it took a while to shake off the gloom from the past few days. It’s Autumn now, a season overflowing with scents. Ripe apples and acorn squash inspire culinary dreams and long dark days are the time for telling stories.
